os_jail

Module Author: Crashdoom
Category: OperServ
Status: Published
User Rating: (10 Comments)

Allows IRC Operators to "jail" users by forcing them to part all channels and join a defined Jail Channel.

This activates the fantasy command: !jail <nickname> to allow IRC Operators to use the module.

As of Version 1.1.0 it allows the use of the command: /os jail <nickname> as a suppliment for the fantasy command.

The module uses the anope EVENT_RELOAD to update the Jail Channel set in the configuration when it's called keeping the script up to date.

The module was designed and created for use on Anope 1.8.4 when running from Linux. It works perfectly during compilation on Linux but considering I have not used the Windows version. I am unsure of how to repair this issue on Windows.

Very nice. You should include some more options though, like say, whether or not the user is forced to part all other channels, whether they should be quieted or not, a list of people who can use it without needing to be oper'd and/or identified, etc. Also, I dont exactly understand the point of this one, but I like how services can't be forced to join it.

@ade Check your services logging channel, otherwise check the latest services log in your log folder, You probably didn't set the channel in the config. I put this on the end of The OperServ Config

    #############
    #
    # Jail
    #
    #############
    JailChannel "#jail"

According to the error there, you're missing the JailChannel configuration value; I haven't tested the module with the latest version of Anope so I cannot confirm that it will work properly.
